Professional DPF Cleaning
DPF warning light, reduced performance or a blocked Diesel Particulate Filter? Sound Exhaust provides professional DPF inspection and cleaning for diesel vehicles in Shepparton.
Is Your Diesel DPF Blocked?
A restricted Diesel Particulate Filter can affect exhaust flow and may contribute to warning lights, reduced performance and other driveability concerns.
Sound Exhaust provides professional DPF cleaning in Shepparton for diesel cars, 4WDs, vans and light commercial vehicles.
Rather than simply cleaning the filter, our team can assess the DPF and related exhaust system to help determine why the filter has become restricted and what course of action is appropriate.
Signs Your DPF May Need Attention
A warning light is one possible sign of a DPF problem, but changes in vehicle performance can also indicate that the diesel exhaust system needs to be inspected.
DPF Warning Light
A DPF or engine warning appearing on the dashboard shouldn't simply be ignored.
Loss of Power
A restricted exhaust system may contribute to reduced vehicle performance.
Increased Fuel Use
A noticeable change in fuel consumption alongside other symptoms may warrant further investigation.
Repeated DPF Problems
If the DPF repeatedly blocks, the underlying cause may need to be investigated.
Why Did the DPF Become Blocked?
Cleaning a DPF without considering why it became restricted may only address part of the problem.
The condition of the filter, exhaust system and vehicle can all influence the appropriate solution. That's why our approach starts with an assessment before we recommend cleaning or further diagnosis.

How Our DPF Service Works
The exact work required depends on your vehicle, the level of restriction and the physical condition of the Diesel Particulate Filter.
Inspect
We start by assessing the DPF, exhaust system and the symptoms you're experiencing.
Assess
The filter's condition and level of restriction are considered before recommending a solution.
Clean
Where suitable, the DPF can be removed as required and professionally cleaned.
Reinstall & Advise
The cleaned filter is reinstalled and we'll discuss any relevant findings or further recommendations.
We Don't Just Clean the Filter
The goal is to understand the problem before recommending the solution.
If the filter is suitable for professional cleaning, we can discuss the required service. If the assessment suggests that further diagnosis or repair is needed, we'll explain the next step.
Inspect Before Cleaning
We assess the DPF and relevant exhaust components before recommending a course of action.
Look Beyond the Blockage
Repeated restriction may mean there is another issue that needs further investigation.
Practical Recommendations
We'll explain whether cleaning is suitable or whether further diagnosis or repairs are required.
